What we liked
- + Pivot balance design needs no batteries and has no electronics to fail
- + Measures from 1.25 to 4 g, covering the range of most moving magnet and DJ cartridges
- + Made by a cartridge manufacturer and small enough to live in the turntable drawer
Trade-offs
- - A printed balance scale cannot match the 0.01 g readout of a digital gauge
- - Will not measure below 1.25 g, so it is no use for very low tracking force cartridges
