What we liked
- + Coreless direct drive motor inherited from the SL-1500C is listed for low vibration and stable playback.
- + Built-in phono EQ and an included AT-VM95C cartridge mean it can plug into powered speakers out of the box.
- + Aluminum S-shaped tonearm, a dust cover and a compact 16.9 inch wide body suit a living room setup.
Trade-offs
- - Direct drive and Bluetooth instead of the belt-drive purist build of the Rega deck it replaces.
- - Priced near $900, so it sits at the upper end of the guide.
