Rockville RockTower 68B Black Home Audio Tower Speakers Passive, 2-Pack
Budget pair of passive 8 ohm Rockville towers with a 3-way layout: two 6.5-inch woofers, a 6.5-inch midrange and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter in each cabinet. A low-cost alternative to the name-brand towers here.
Price range: See on Amazon
What we liked
- + Three-way design with a dedicated 6.5-inch midrange driver, sold as a pair for less than many single towers
- + Rated 125W RMS per speaker with a stated 30Hz to 20kHz response and an 8 ohm load that suits most stereo receivers
- + MDF cabinets with removable grilles and gold-plated 5-way binding posts for banana plugs, spades or bare wire
Trade-offs
- - 87 dB sensitivity is on the low side, so small low-power amplifiers will have to work harder
- - A budget brand pick, a clear step down in price class from the Klipsch and Polk towers in this guide
